ENGL 3678 - Literary Approaches to the Hebrew Bible
Considers the Hebrew Bible as a foundational document in the Western literary tradition, analyzing units of biblical narrative (including Genesis, Exodus, Judges, Esther, and Ruth) and exemplary biblical poetry. Includes reading of literary criticism of the Bible and creative rewritings of biblical stories in later poetry and legend. Prereq. ENGL 1400 for English majors; ENGW 1111, ENGW 1102, ENGL 1111, or ENGL 1102 for nonmajors; and sophomore standing or above.
