HINF 6325 - Legal and Social Issues in Health Informatics
Introduces the ethical, legal, and social issues arising in the use of computerized technology and information systems in the delivery of healthcare. Case studies are used to discuss the role of law in the design and implementation of health informatics systems; the U.S. healthcare regulatory environment; and the structure, concepts, and process of decision making on health matters in legislative, administrative, and judicial bodies. Prereq. HINF 5101; full-time students can take HINF 6325 concurrently with HINF 5101 with permission of program director.
